Kodi Streaming App – Everything you must read about Kodi

By | September 20, 2017

Today we will take closer look at the most popular app in the recent months, which surely Kodi Streaming App is. Its popularity is growing rapidly and I think it is the right time to write few words about Kodi. If you want to learn what Kodi is, how does it work and where to get it, this article is just for you. Read it to the very end and remember to comment or share.

What is Kodi Streaming App?

Kodi (known as XBMC) is a free and open-source media player app created by the XBMC Foundation. It is using 10-foot UI that allows for use with TV and remote controls. It is available for various operating systems and many platforms. Thanks to Kodi you can play and watch most streaming media, such as videos, music, podcasts, and what’s the most important videos over the internet.

Kodi comes with variety of skins that can change its appearance as well as many plugins (addons) allowing users to stream online via online services such as Youtube, Spotify, Amazon Prime and many many more. With the latest versions you can also have a personal video-recorder (PVR), electronic program guide (popular EPG) and full support for high-definition digital video recorder (DVR).

What Do I Need To Use Kodi?

All you need is a Smart TV or if you still have an older TV you can get Android TV Box to use with Kodi. I will soon make a post about most popular android tv boxes on the market – so keep in touch. Or even better, signup for my newsletter on the right or below, and be the first to know which box to choose. In general the Kodi software is available for Android, Linux, BSD, macOS, iOS/tvOS and Windows, so if you have any device with one of these operating systems you’re good to go.

Is Kodi legal?

Due to third party plugins it has attracted negative attention, as it allows for access to copyrighted media content and other media players filled in with similar addons. Using Kodi just for watching videos or listening music of course is completely legal and shouldn’t bother anyone.

I believe, even when used with so called “unofficial add-ons” just for a sake of tests and your own educational purpose won’t do any harm. However, making use of it on a daily basis certainly is nothing to be proud of and is illegal. But these days in this huge internet world it isn’t easy to prove the use of it. To be honest.. they would need to send at least half of the population to jail… clearly impossible! Who doesn’t watch online streams, please stand up… 😉
